Miracle

Last week Liela had a fever but I didnt think much of it. I did everything i could and she pulled through. But when I got there friday she was acting weird and stretching out even weired. The vet rushed down and it turns out she had a displacement ontop of an impaction. She immediatly gave her more banamine and a tranq so she could pump her stomache. After a while of that it didnt seem to be working so she told me I had to decide what i would do. without hesitation i called everyone i knew trying to get a trailer to bring her to tuffs for surgery. my friend alycia came down with her trailer immediatly but once we tried to load her she freaked. she tried eating the hay on the side of the trailer but with the tube still down her throat she couldnt eat. the vet told me that once we got there theyd give me a real diagnosis and id have to decide whether i would have to put her down or not. but she then changed her mind and said that if liela was this hungry its not normal. she checked her again then told me to put her in her stall. something with the fear of the trailer had fixed her stomache. she hooked liela up to an i.v. and i stayed with her for hours changing the bag and walking her inbetween them. me, my girlfriend, and my friend stayed at the house at the barn all night. luckily its my friends barn so she didnt mind. i had been up since 2 am and at work at 4 so i was exahusted and by 11 i took a nap. while i was sleeping my friend walked her a little. i woke up at 2 and went back out and sure enough she had gone to the bathroom. the nightmare was almost over.

that morning the vet came back over to check her and shes fine. i have to be really careful with feeding her and shes on hay cubes at lunch now for the water and i bought some suppliments for her.

shes back on her grain now and i rode her again yesterday. i cant explan how happy i am. when the $700 vet bill came in i didnt even flinch cuase i knew my horse was alive and that was worth all the money in the world.

jess sorry i didnt call today, i woke up around noon, only toi find the ion's windshield had been smashed.

Debbie our neighbor came over and told us she had something last night, and when she looked outside, she saw some kids walking on the street, so....yea....fucking hunky doory shit.
